KGEM Producer’s Club Welcomes Von Raess and Taraneh Salke To Talk About their Short Film “ Where are the Men” Wednesday Oct 26

This month KGEM’s special guest speakers are independent short film director Von Raees, (also the publisher of the Monrovia Weekly), and Taraneh Salke, who is the focus of a compelling and multiple award winning short documentary called “Where are the Men?” that discusses the challenges of family planning and advancement of womens’ health issues in war torn Afghanistan.

The short documentary ‘Where are the Men?’ is a multiple-award winning film discussing the importance of involving Afghan men in family planning and reproductive health for advancement of women’s health and development in Afghanistan. The film has been produced and directed by Taraneh Salke and Von Raees.

KGEM is proud to announce a special free event. The KGEM Producer’s Club, an event for our resident volunteer producers, friends of producers and those interested in possibly becoming producers of community television to meet once a month to have a meeting of the minds every third Wednesday at the KGEM studio, 6:30 p.m. 847 E. Olive Ave. in Monrovia in the same building as the Mary Wilcox Youth Center.

KGEM will be screening the 15 minute film at 6:30 in the studio and there will be a Q and A with the filmmakers thereafter which KGEM will be taping for broadcast if you can’t make it in person.
