Last weekend during Black Friday and Small Business Saturday Monrovia firefighters began their annual Spark of Love Toy Drive. They collect new unwrapped toys and donate them to charity. In Monrovia, those toys remain in the community as they are donated to Foothill Unity Center which serves those in need locally.

Toys can be brought to either fire station. Station 101 is in the Old Town area at 141 E. Lemon Ave. and Station 102 is in the south end at 2055 S. Myrtle Ave., approximately a block south of Duarte Road.

Firefighters also have a tradition of “passing the boot” when seeking donations. The fire boot for this event is even decorated for the holidays
