Last year’s earthquake workshop was so popular and well-attended that a second workshop has been scheduled. The Monrovia Fire Department and the Monrovia Historic Preservation Group (MOHPG) will once again partner to host the event on Saturday Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event will again be held in the Community Room of the Monrovia Public Library. Refreshments will be provided and each attendee will receive a free gift.
Last year’s featured speaker, Margaret Vinci from the California Institute of Technology, will once again share her extensive knowledge regarding earthquake preparation. Also in attendance will be representatives from Monrovia Fire & Rescue, the Southern California Gas Company, Southern California Edison, and the American Red Cross. Because space is limited, the maximum number of attendees is set at 60. If you would like to attend it’s free, but you must register ahead of time. To RSVP go to the MOHPG website (mohpg.org) or contact the Monrovia Fire Department at (626) 256-8181.
