City Staff, library stakeholders, and interested community members met on Sept. 17 to begin work on the strategic plan for the library.

According to City Manager Oliver Chi, the meeting was “inspirational and productive” with participants working in groups to share ideas about why the library exists and who the library serves.

Chi wrote in his city manager’s report this week that, “Moving forward, the project team is working to develop a survey that will allow the community share what they love about the library and what they would like to see improved in the future. The survey will be available for everyone to take in the next week or two, and we will be sure to share that information as soon as we have it available.”

As a next step, a community forum has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the library. Everyone in the community is welcome to participate to help the library improve operations. If you have any questions, please the contact the library staff at (626) 256-8274.
